Directions

If your dog has an extremely sensitive gut, it may be advisable to open the capsule and add a small pinch to breakfast for a few days and increase over a week or more. Once this is tolerated, we suggest following the instruction on the bottle.

Give 30 minutes before food, wedged in a little treat or food. If more than 1 capsule is given, split between meal times. If capsule will not be taken outside of dinner time, open and sprinkle onto food. Can be taken for up to 6 months or longer and replaced with Gut Replenish.

Directions per day:
Toy Dogs (0-4kg) – ½ capsule
Small Cats and Dogs (5 – 12kg) – 1 capsule
Medium Dogs (13 – 25kg) – 2 capsules
Large Dogs (26 – 40kg) – 3 capsules
Xtra Large Dogs (Over 40kg) – 4 capsules
It may be advisable to give away from medications as it contains mucilage herbs,
that may disrupt absorption rates.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I feed Gut Guardian long term?

Gut Guardian is often recommended for a 6-month period, but this product can be given every day of the year, if required. Some clients can’t live without it.

Can my cat take Gut Guardian?

Absolutely. Gut Guardian has been designed with your cat in mind.

Is it ok to feed Gut Guardian if my cat or dog hasn’t eaten for a few days?

Yes. This is a soothing product, but we suggest adding it in slowly if your cat or dog has a sensitive digestion.

What issues is Gut Guardian good for?

We often suggest Gut Guardian as a base product for any issues. It specifically works on digestion, but it can also aid ear and skin issues, lowered immunity, musculoskeletal problems and the neurological system. The gut is deeply connected to every organ system in the body.

Can I give Gut Guardian alongside other MPN supplements?

Yes, we have designed our products to be able to give alongside one and other.

Is there a limit to the number of supplements I can give to my cat or dog?

We often say 3-4 supplements is about right, but every cat or dog is different.

My cat or dog is fussy; how do you suggest giving your supplements?

If your dog can swallow the size of the capsule, it’s best to wedge it in a nice juicy piece of meat or their favourite food. Adding to food, can spoil their eating experience and they may remember this for next time. Warming some bone broth (suitable for pets) and opening the capsule and adding the powder can be a clever way to disguise supplements.

What is the best way for Gut Guardian to be given?

Ideally it should be given 30 minutes before giving a main meal, wedged in a treat or a small amount of the food. Then wait and serve the rest of the meal.

Does Gut Guardian interfere with any of my pet’s medications?

It is imagined that slippery elm or marshmallow root may interfere with the absorption of medications. There is no research to confirm this but as a precaution, we suggest giving Gut Guardian about 2 hours away from medications.

When is Gut Guardian not suitable for my cat or dog?

We are yet to find a time when it is not suitable. We do however suggest that if your dog is sensitive or has IBD, introduce this product slowly.
